PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical image by an optical element that changes optical characteristics according to supply voltage with low power consumption even when a main switch is turned off. SOLUTION: The optical device includes: the main switch which can be operated externally, and feeds power to the device by on-operation and stops feeding the power by off-operation; an optical system which has the optical element that changes the optical characteristics according to the voltage; a voltage supply means which supplies voltage to the optical element; and a control means which controls the voltage supply means to supply the voltage to the optical element when the main switch is turned on, and to change a voltage supply state to the optical element according to a predetermined signal other than a signal from the main switch when the main switch is turned off.
