Immobilising brake with test capabilities and method for executing a test function

The parking brake (6) has a valve device (22) e.g. bistable 3/2 way valve, performing a parking brake function and another valve device (24) performing a test function. A timer (8) is arranged in an electrical control device (12) and in a manual control unit (10). The electrical control device controls a compressed-air conditioning system and a function of a main brake. The electrical control device is attached to convey a signal for performing a test function of a trailer brake control module, which is arranged on a drawing vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for performing a testing function for an electrical parking brake of a commercial vehicle.
