PURPOSE: A digital photographing apparatus, a method for controlling the same, and a recording medium storing a program to implement the method are provided to easily obtain a panorama image automatically. CONSTITUTION: A digital photographing apparatus includes a display unit(113), a user input unit(121), a photographing unit(123), an image processing unit(125), a storage unit(127) and a digital signal processor(129). The digital photographing apparatus, a method for controlling the same, and a recording medium storing a program to implement the method comprise the following steps. The second projection data with a minimum difference from the first projection data is searched in the second image photographed by the digital photographing apparatus. The image processing unit performs signal processing to display a digitally converted image signal. The digital signal processor generates a panorama image by combining the first and second images.
