PURPOSE: A method for preparing a thermoplastic resin is provided to manufacture a thermoplastic resin with excellent impact strength, tensile strength, glossiness and fluidity. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a thermoplastic resin comprises the steps of: preparing rubber latex with an average particle diameter of 2,500 ~ 5,000 Å, average particle diameter of 2,500 ~ 5,000 Å, and gel content of 80 ~ 95 weight%; and injecting 30-50 wt% monomer mixture to 50 ~ 70 weight% rubber latex, wherein the monomer mixture is at least one selected the group consisting of an aromatic vinyl compound, a vinyl cyanide and an acrylate compound; preparing graft copolymer latex; preparing graft-copolymer powder by cohering, aging, dehydrating and drying the graft copolymer latex; and injecting lubricant 0.1 ~ 2 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of rubber latex and monomer mixture.
