<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradation correcting technology capable of suppressing the occurrence of a density difference between a horizontal line and a vertical line caused by a control error of modulated laser. <P>SOLUTION: Gradation correction by a method of gradation correction for laser scanning exposure is performed on the basis of measured density values of a test print including a horizontal stripe test pattern comprising horizontal line groups extending in a main scanning direction and a vertical stripe test pattern comprising vertical line groups extending in a sub scanning direction. The method includes steps of calculating a rising correction amount for the main scanning rising correction of adding a rising correction component to one dot after rising of a modulated laser in order to reduce density difference between the horizontal line and the vertical line and calculating on the basis of the measured density values, and on the basis of the measured density values, a falling correction amount for the main scanning falling correction of adding a falling correction component to one dot before the falling of the modulated laser in order to reduce the density difference between the horizontal line and the vertical line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
