<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a so-called resume reproducing function in a device for controlling the reproduction of contents read from a recording medium using a program read from the recording medium. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A content reproduction system 1 includes: a read part 22 for reading contents and a BD-J program for controlling BD-J contents from a Blu-ray Disc (BD) 41; a content control part 23 for controlling the reproduction of the BD-J contents read from the BD 41 by unfolding the BD-J program read from the BD 41 by the read part 22 in a RAM 12 and executing it; a stop instruction receiving part 25 for receiving the stop instruction of the reproduction of the contents; and a state holding part 26 for holding the contents of the execution region of the BD-J program in the RAM 12 as it is in the state in the middle of execution when the stop instruction is received by the stop instruction receiving part 25 while reproducing the BD-J contents.
