<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for a game which allows detection of occurrence of an abnormal state which is a state wherein a tax rate setting switch is operated illegally or a state wherein a tax rate setting switch is broken. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The device for a game includes a tax rate setting operation section which receives operation of setting tax rate information of an indirect tax to renting of game mediums and a storage section which stores set tax rate information inputted from the tax rate setting operation section as stored tax rate information at a preset first timing. The device for a game rents the renting number of game mediums based on the storage tax rate information. The device for a game includes an abnormality information output section which outputs abnormality information showing occurrence of the abnormal state in which there is a possibility that the illegal state wherein the tax rate setting operation section is operated illegally or a broken state in which the tax rate setting operation section is broken, when it is decided that stored tax rate information and set tax rate information do not match.
