The circuit (16) has an actual condition measuring device e.g. current detector (26), for generating an actual condition signal associated with operating parameter of a consumer e.g. UV mercury lamp (10). A condition error signal circuit e.g. current signal comparator (36), is exposed to the actual condition signal and a nominal conditional signal, and generates a condition error signal. The condition error signal corresponds to the difference between actual and nominal condition signals and controls a power unit including a transducer transformer (20).
