<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mercury-free high-pressure discharge lamp containing a halide of at least one of thulium (Tm) and holmium (Ho), improved in emission color by reducing suppression of blue light emission by filling thallium halide, high in luminous efficiency, and excelling in the balance of an average color rendering index Ra, and also to provide a lighting system using it. <P>SOLUTION: This high-pressure discharge lamp is provided with: a translucent airtight vessel 1; a pair of electrodes 2, 2; and an ionization medium which contains a metal halide and a rare gas, wherein the metal halide contains a halide of at least one of thulium (Tm) and holmium (Ho), and a halide of thallium (Tl) or metal thallium (Tl) not more than 0.8 mg/cc with respect to a unit inner volume of the translucent airtight vessel in thallium iodide (TlI) equivalent, and a main constituent of xenon (Xe) of the rare gas is filled in the translucent airtight vessel set at 1-20 atm in room temperature equivalent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
