<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal oscillator capable of securely switching a terminal function and preventing an error due to noise. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Each of function blocks (109, 111) is connected to a first terminal 105 via a first connection switching circuit 113, and connected to a second terminal 107 via a second connection switching circuit 115. Then a signal for switching the function blocks connected to the first terminal 105 and a signal for switching the function blocks connected to the second terminal 107 are produced by signals which are simultaneously input into these first and second terminals. Since simultaneous inputs of signals into a plurality of terminals themselves which are subjected to switching involve signal generation for switching terminal functions in the crystal oscillator, it eliminates using a voltage of a power source terminal for determination of terminal function switching in switching the terminal functions, thereby eliminating instability in operation which attributes to the use of a single power supply voltage for determination of switching.
