<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light irradiation device which is adaptable to objects in various sizes and can be made compact. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The light irradiation device used for irradiating the prescribed position of an object with light includes: a light source (1) for outputting a laser beam; a plano-concave lens (2) disposed on the main optical axis of the light source; a plano-convex lens (3) disposed on the post stage side of the plano-concave lens on the main optical axis of the light source; and a holder (4) for holding the object on the post stage side of the plano-convex lens on the main optical axis of the light source. The plano-concave lens has a concave curved surface disposed on the light source side and a plane disposed on the plano-convex lens side, and the plano-convex lens has a plane disposed on the plano-concave lens side and a convex curved surface disposed on the holder side.
