<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display capable of suppressing degradation of luminance of the organic EL display itself, and excelling in visibility. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This organic EL display 1 is characterized by comprising: a first electrode layer 14; an organic luminescent layer 15 formed on the first electrode layer 14; a second electrode layer 16 formed on the organic luminescent layer 15, and transmitting light emitted from the organic luminescent layer 15; and a light absorption layer 22 formed at a position located on the side where the light emitted from the organic luminescent layer 15 advances, and becoming a node of standing waves W of the light emitted from the organic luminescent layer 15.
