<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion converting drive mechanism in a compact and simple configuration, which converts a rotary motion of an output shaft of a motor into a linear reciprocating motion to output the linear reciprocating motion, and a seat apparatus including the motion converting drive mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: The motion converting drive mechanism 64 converts the rotary motion of the motor 66 fixed to a housing case 76 into the linear reciprocating motion via a reduction gear mechanism 67A and a screw mechanism 68A. The reduction gear mechanism includes a pinion 72 serving as a helical gear having two to four teeth, removably supported by the housing case and coaxially rotation-coupled with the output shaft of the motor, and a gear 73 meshing with the pinion, removably supported by the housing case with a rotation axis arranged in parallel and close to a rotation axis of the pinion; and the screw mechanism has an internally-threaded portion 75 and an externally-threaded portion 74, one of which is formed coaxially with the gear. Accordingly, the compact and simple configuration can be obtained, and a meshing ratio is secured, thereby achieving a large reduction gear ratio equal to a reduction gear ratio between a worm and a worm wheel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
