An exercise apparatus comprising a moving section (7) ridden by a person and drive means for activating the moving section (7), and further comprising stimulation means (87) for imparting information and stimulus to the person riding the moving section (7), detection means (86,88) for detecting the movement of the person riding the moving section and judging means (C2) for judging based on the output from the stimulation means together with the output from the detection means. Effective transitive exercise can be carried out with an active exercise interlaced therewith.
