PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensing element, photosensor, and display device that have high sensitivity to incident light. SOLUTION: An optical sensing element 10 has a photoelectric conversion semiconductor thin-film 14, an ohmic contact thin film 16 arranged on one side of the photoelectric conversion semiconductor thin-film 14 such that an optical incidence window part is demarcated, primary and secondary ohmic electrodes 17 and 18 prepared on the ohmic contact thin film, a connecting interconnect 19 for short-circuiting the primary and secondary ohmic electrodes 17 and 18, an insulating film 13 prepared on the other side of the photoelectric conversion semiconductor thin-film 14, and a primary electrode 12 prepared on a surface where the insulating film 13 does not contact with the photoelectric device semiconductor thin-film 14. A pulse or an AC signal is applied between the connecting interconnect 19 and the primary electrode 12 so that an output current output from the optical sensing element 10 changes in response to an amount of light incident upon the photoelectric conversion semiconductor thin-film 14.
