PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and easily weld a rear end part of a preceding film and a tip end part of a succeeding film. SOLUTION: A heat sealer device 40 has a pair of welding heads 41, 42, suction heads 46-48, a cutter 55, and clamps 57, 58. When joining films 3a, 3b, the preceding film 3a is lifted up by upper suction heads 41, 42 to retreat from a film conveying path 49, and cut the preceding film 3a in the state. After cutting, the cutter 55 is retreated and returned to a joining position. While the rear end part of the preceding film 3a and the tip end part of the succeeding film 3b are held with the clamps 57, 58 and the suction heads 46-48, they are heated and pressed with the welding heads 41, 42 and films 3a, 3b are welded with each other to be joined. Since the joining is performed in a state held with the suction heads 41, 42, positioning of the rear end part of the preceding film 3a becomes unnecessary and the films are simply and accurately joined with each other.
