The system has a game pad with a central game zone and player zones that are separated from each other and from the game zone. A centralizer device has processing units for continuous processing of data from the pad, and an identification sub-unit for identifying nature of change in a zone among the zones for a card and chip, where change is identified among appearance, disappearance and displacement from the zone. A determination sub-unit of the device determines phase of the game from the lastly detected movement and history of preceding movements of cards and chips. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for automatically monitoring a game during running of the game (2) a computer program comprising instructions to perform a method for automatically monitoring a game during running of the game (3) a recording medium comprising instructions to perform a method for automatically monitoring a game during running of the game.
