The lock (1) has a plastic case (3) and a metallic back-plate (5) defining a retention compartment (7) for receiving a bolt that is cooperated with a striking plate. A metallic plate (15) partially covers the case, and includes two bases i.e. side tabs (17, 18). The bases are in contact with the metallic back-plate in order to fix the lock to an opening edge of a motor vehicle using a connection unit (20). The connection unit comprises two fixation screws, and is carried by the bases of the metallic plate and by the metallic back-plate in a zone (21) that is in contact with the bases.
