The conversion process can be applied to animal and vegetable material. The organic material is received in a feed unit in the form of a screw conveyor (8), which transports it to the shaft (6) of a tubular furnace, where it is pyrolyzed with oxygen cut off and meets a bottom plate (7), strongly heated by the exhaust gases of the heating system (10) passing through the exhaust gas housing (9). The gas thus produced is treated in subsequent units.
