<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve conversion efficiency of conversion from solar light energy to electric power at low cost with less labor. <P>SOLUTION: A wavelength converting element for solar cell which converts solar light energy into electric power includes a substrate 11 that transmits light, corresponding to an absorption band of a solar cell 2, of supplied solar light, an input-side quantum dot group 13 comprising a plurality of quantum dots 11 having a first energy level at which excitons are excited with ultraviolet light of the supplied solar light, and an output-side quantum dot 14 which has a resonance energy level at which excitons are injected through the substrate 11 from the respective quantum dots 12 constituting the input-side quantum dot group 13 according to resonance with the first energy level, and generates output light having the absorption band of the solar cell 2 longer than the wavelength of the ultraviolet light according to energy emitted from the resonance energy level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
