PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting element of excellent durability exhibiting an optical output of high efficiency and high luminance. SOLUTION: The organic light-emitting element is constituted of an anode, a cathode, and a layer(s) formed of an organic compound held between the anode and the cathode with at least one of the organic compound layer(s) comprising a condensed-ring aromatic compound represented by formula [1]. In formula [1], R1to R16each represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an amino group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group, provided that each may be the same or different.
