<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine speed display device capable of suppressing an unnecessary change of engine speed displayed in a meter, and displaying a useful change of the engine speed to a driver with favorable responsiveness. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A TCU 7 not only computes an actual engine speed NE of an engine 50 on the basis of a signal from an engine speed sensor 21, but also computes estimated engine speed (virtual engine speed NEi, target engine speed NEt) on the basis of the drive information of a power transmission system 60, and computes a meter engine speed NEm by selectively using at least either of the actual engine speed NE or the estimated engine speed according to the state of an automatic transmission 61. Therefore, the unnecessary change of the engine speed displayed in a tachometer 6 can be suppressed, and the useful change of the engine speed can be displayed to the driver with favorable responsiveness.
