PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sock which is prevented from sliding and the opening rubber of which can be relaxed while an eliminating hematogenous disorder when worn and a foot trace left after taken off. SOLUTION: The sock 1 includes a body part 4 forming a part ranging from a wearing opening part 2 to a heel part 3, and a foot part 6 forming a part ranging from the heel part 3 to a toe part 5, wherein the mesh size of the knitted structure of a fabric forming an intermediate area 7 ranging from a halfway of the body part to a halfway of the foot part except the heel part 3 is made smaller than that of other parts. The sock is knitted with gradation step by step so that the mesh size of the intermediate area 7 becomes smallest in the vicinity of the heel part halfway from the starting end 7a to the dead end 7c halfway of the foot part, namely in the periphery of an ankle-corresponding part 7b, and gradually becomes rough toward both ends 7a, 7c.
