PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce leakage due to an imperfect contact of a valve element produced by distortion of an iner circumference when the center of a valve seat and the center of a holder member are not perfectly aligned because the valve seat is compressed in the radial and face direction at the time of assembly. SOLUTION: This liquid container is equipped with a valve means having the annular valve seat 223 arranged in a communicating passage communicating both the inside and outside of a container body housing ink therein with each other and the valve element 224 urged and pressed from inside for sealing the valve seat 223 and a pressing part passed through the valve seat 223 and movably arranged to open a valve by pushing the valve element 224 from outside. The pressing part has a first portion 242a having an outer diameter D2 smaller than the inner diameter D1 of the valve seat 223 and moving back and forth within the valve seat 223 and a second portion 242b having an outer diameter D3 nearly equal to the inner diameter D1 of the valve seat 223, and the pressing part has the second portion 242b can be fitted in the valve seat 223.
