PURPOSE:To increase the data transfer speed without increasing the disk revolving speed by dividing the data within a sector to plural data recording surfaces and recording them and then reading out both divided data synchronously. CONSTITUTION:In a data writing mode the write data transferred from a host processor CPU are stored to the sector buffer 31 of a control circuit 30 for each sector. Then the write data are distributed at every byte to data buffers 32 by a distributing circuit 331 and written simultaneously with the same write clock. In this example, the data of 8 bytes in all are latched by 8 data buffers 321...328 respectively. Then the data are written to the same head position on the data surfaces 11 by the same write clock and then written in the same way by the next write clock. Thus the data are written at every 8 bytes on those 8 data surfaces in the data writing mode. |
