Producing foodstuff and/or food additives, preferably animal feed, comprises at least partially coating selenium (preferably sodium selenite and/or sodium selenate) with fat (preferably fat shell or fat matrix) by spraying or extrusion. Independent claims are included for: (1) the use of fat for embedding selenium, preferably for pet food, where sodium selenite and/or sodium selenate is used in a fat shell and/or fat matrix and the embedding is carried out as above per se; and (2) food stuff, preferably animal feed and/or foodstuff for human, comprising extruded or sprayed fat with selenium (preferably in the form of sodium selenite and/or sodium selenate) obtained by the above method. |
