PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display component expressing structural colors and constructive materials of which can be reused, the display component in which the expressed structural colors vary depending on external stimulation and having a high response speed, and a method for producing the display component by using little energy. SOLUTION: The display component comprises a spherical body and a matrix and has a display layer for expressing the structural colors. The matrix is formed of a material having a yield value of 1-1×103Pa. The display component in which the structural colors expressed by the display layer are variable is preferable. It is also preferable that the specific material contains a natural high molecular weight polysaccharide. Ž
