It is possible to improve user-friendliness of a mobile electronic device which can limit a predetermined function. Provided is a mobile electronic device including: a transmission/reception function unit (IC chip (11)) which can communicate with an external communication device; a function limit unit (IC chip control unit (113)) which limits a predetermined function using a communication performed by the transmission/reception function unit after completion of communication between the transmission/reception function unit and the external communication device; a setting unit which sets a predetermined state at which the limit is released; a judgment unit which judges whether the predetermined state is set in; and a function limit release unit which releases the function limit in accordance with the judgment made by the judgment unit after the function limit is performed by the function limit unit.
