The invention relates to a liquid mucoadhesive pharmaceutical composition for mucous membrane treatment, and may find application in medical practice in the form of oral, ocular, rectal, vaginal, nasal and periodontal medicines. The liquid mucoadhesive composition contains the following ingredients in weight percent: biologically active substance - 0.01 to 10.00; mucoadhesive substance - 0.01 õ¯ 10.00; preservative - 0.01 to 5.00; NaCl - 0.10 to 0.90; and phosphate buffer with -? 5-7 - up to 100. The relative viscosity is 5.00-500.00 and the relative adhesive viscosity is from 105.0 to 120.0 percent. The resulting mucoadhesive composition provides easy diffusion, good resorption and improved bioavailability. The composition has an extended stay on the mucosa and allows reaching the necessary therapeutic effect with lower doses. Moreover, the composition has good fluidity and mucoadhesivity.
