An architectural fitting of the type including windows and doors, the fitting comprising a generally rectangular frame (1) housing an infill panel (2) of glass or the like, the frame being formed of at least two lengths of a channel shaped extrusion (3) having a recessed base (5) and two extending flanges (6) at the inner (7) and outer (8) edges thereof, wherein the recessed base includes one or a plurality of negative keyways (9) for captively receiving an intermediate locking plate (l0) such that the locking plate can co-operate to lock two adjacent frames by slidable engagement so as to remain captive and fully contained within the two adjacent recessed bases.
