PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and set screen displaying method, which display a set screen which a person with color-vision impairment can confirm without fault, on a display section for displaying setting information such as operational conditions. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: the display section for displaying the setting picture comprising a plurality of display areas; and an operating section for selecting an information item displayed on the setting picture and changing a setting value of the information item, and the imaging apparatus further includes: a storage section for storing color sense test information comprising information to be used for determining a color sense recognition tendency of a user, storing color sense substitution information, predetermined beforehand for each of display areas of the setting picture, relating setting color information indicating a display color of the display area and barrier-free color information indicating a display color easy to recognize for a person with color-vision impairment; and a color-sense determining section for generating the color-sense substitution information through an answering operation, which the user of the imaging apparatus performs using the operating section, in accordance with the color-sense test information displayed on the display section.
