PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide continuous coating equipment which can effectively prevent coating nonuniformity caused by the vibration of a strip in the continuous coating equipment, and an advantageous operation method of the same. SOLUTION: The continuous coating equipment has a coating device 2 for applying a coating liquid continuously on the surface of a traveling steel belt 1, a catenary type drying/baking device 4 for drying/baking the coated steel belt, and a catenary type cooling device 5 composed of multi-stage cooling units which cools the dried/baked steel belt and is used as an exhaust blower in post-stage cooling and an air supply blower in pre-stage cooling. An air supply gas control means for directly sending part of gas supplied from the air supply blower to the exhaust blower or causing part of the gas to bypass the exhaust blower or controlling the flow rate distribution in the longitudinal direction and/or the width direction of the gas supplied from the air supply blower is installed at least in one cooling unit on the upstream side of the cooling device.
