PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital FPU receiving apparatus which automatically adjusts to the optimal reception level in accordance with a use environment and an operating mode. SOLUTION: An IF amplifier 6 amplifies its own station wave receiving signal converted into an intermediate frequency (IF) band for the own station wave by a mixer 3, and in accordance with a detection level value obtained by detecting the amplified IF signal through a detector 9 and a monitor result obtained by monitoring a bit error rate (BER) of a demodulated signal of a demodulator 7 through a BER monitoring section 11, a gain control section 10 controls a gain of a low-noise amplifier 1. When the BER monitoring section 11 detects deterioration in the BER, a level comparator 13 compares a reference level value (set for each use environment and each operating mode) set to a memory 12 as a level value in the center point of a gain controllable range of the low-noise amplifier 1 with the detection level value. If the detection level value is higher than the reference level value, gain control is started in such a direction as to decrease the gain, or when the detection level value is lower than the reference level value, meanshile, the gain control is started in such a direction as to increase the gain and the gain is controlled so as to minimize the BER of the demodulated signal.
