RUTILE TYPE TITANIUM OXIDE MICROPARTICLES, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, DISPERSION LIQUID, AND OPTICAL MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing rutile type titanium oxide microparticles exhibiting a high dispersibility in a non-polar organic solvent such as toluene in a high reproducibility. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a rutile type titanium oxide microparticle comprises a step of heating an aqueous solution containing a tin compound and a titanium compound of≥0.1 M and≤0.25 M in titanium concentration to produce a titanium oxide microparticle, a step of adding a liposoluble surface modifier molecule to the aqueous solution from right after the titanium oxide microparticle is produced in the heating treatment and till the haze of the aqueous solution becomes≤90% due to the titanium oxide microparticle, and a step of extracting the titanium oxide microparticle surface-modified with the liposoluble surface modifier molecule to a non-polar organic solvent phase.
