PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image intensifier capable of suppressing intermittent discharge phenomena and stray emission. SOLUTION: A chromium oxide film 24 is formed at a triple point region 23 where an electrode 19, insulators 21, 22, and vacuum cross one another. Arcing on the interface between the electrode 19 and the insulators 21, 22, and surface creepage due to existence of the triple point region 23 are prevented by the chromium oxide film 24, and the intermittent discharge phenomena and the stray emission are also prevented.
