PRINTER AND PRINTING CONTROL METHOD

A printer and a printing control method, of which the printer includes the following parts. A print head moves between the printing region and the shifting region; a character carriage connects the said print head and the print head carrier; a multi color ink ribbon cassette fixing unit, the said fixing unit can swing the cassette; a ink ribbon cassette supporting unit is in the shifting region, the said unit supports the fixing unit in different height corresponding to different rotating angle in order to shift the ink ribbon; a ink ribbon shifting unit is fixed on the said character carriage and it can raise the fixing unit to a position away from the supporting unit in the shifting region and drive the supporting unit rotating to different angle; a resetting unit is fixed on the supporting unit and it can reset the supporting unit when the supporting unit does not connect to the shifting unit.
