<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device properly purifying unburnt components released from adsorbing material without providing an additive device. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device is provided with a bypass passage provided on the exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine. The adsorbing material is provided on the bypass passage to adsorb unburnt components in exhaust gas at low temperature, and release the adsorbed unburnt components at high temperature. An exhaust gas purification catalyst is provided downstream of a joining part of the bypass passage to the exhaust passage and cleans unburnt components in the exhaust gas. A released quantity adjusting part is provided to adjust released quantity of the unburnt components adsorbed to the adsorbing material based on integrated fuel cut air quantity which is an integrated value of air quantity taken into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine while fuel cut is being carried out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
