PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup data management system and a backup data management method which facilitate managing backup data multiplexed between different storage devices. SOLUTION: The backup data management system includes: a storage device 200A having a volume 2351 for use in a host computer 100; at least one of storage devices 200B to 200D having volumes 2353 to 2357; and a management computer 300. The management computer 300 generates copy pairs so that a snapshot of the volume 2351 included in a backup group may be stored in all the volumes 2353 to 2357 included in the backup group, and sets all copy pairs included in a designated backup group to a PAIR state in response to a request to generate the snapshot of the volume 2351.
