A knee airbag device having a column, wherein a knee airbag can be appropriately expanded even if the position of the steering column is changed by a telescopic function. A knee airbag device (10) having a column is provided with a knee airbag (42) mounted folded in a column cover (15) for covering a steering column body (14) having a telescopic function, and also with an inflator (40) for generating gas when a collision of the vehicle is detected or predicted. The knee airbag (42) receives gas to open an airbag door (38) of the column cover (15) by expansion pressure of the gas and is expanded between an instrument panel (22) and the knees (K) of an occupant. A gas supply opening (48) for supplying the gas, which is supplied from the inflator (40), to the knee airbag (42) is located, in a side view when the steering column is set to the forwardmost position by the telescopic function, at a position closer to the rear of the vehicle than the instrument panel (22).
