PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a power transmission device and a power transmission chain without increasing the sizes thereof. SOLUTION: The power transmission chain 1 for the power transmission device 1 comprises a plurality of link modules 40 connected to one another side by side in a chain moving direction X. Each link module 40 includes first, second and third link units 51, 52, 53 neighboring one another in the chain moving direction X, and connection members 50 for connecting the link units 51, 52, 53 to one another. Each of the link units 51, 52, 53 includes the same number of links 2 arranged side by side in a chain cross direction W. In each link module 40, the plurality of links 2 are arranged in prefixed order in the chain cross direction W so that, when a tensile load is applied in the chain moving direction X, a deformation amount H13 of the link 201 arranged most-outside on one side in the chain cross direction W is not less than a deformation amount H14 of the link 203 arranged second-outside.
