NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SEARCHING ROAD

A navigation system and a method for searching a road are provided to enable a user to search a route easily by providing detail section list of each road with road list in a road search mode for setting up a route. A method for searching a road comprises following steps. Roads coinciding with the search word which a user inputs are arranged and road list is provided(S20). In case one road is selected in the road list, one or more road sections included in the selected road are arranged and a detail section list is provided(S30). The navigation system is composed of a storage and a controller. The storage stores map data about nationwide map and information related to the roads in the nationwide map. The controller performs road name searching menu for searching roads and road sections of the road based on stored map data and the information related to the roads.
