PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drift-tube accelerator in which mutual parallelism and positioning between drift tubes can be accurately adjusted in keeping secure electric contact between a stem and a cylindrical cavity. SOLUTION: The drift-tube accelerator, which has a cylindrical cavity 2 with a through-hole, tubular drift-tubes mounted on passing-through positions of charged particles incident into the cylindrical cavity, and a stem 1 to fix the drift-tubes, with a plurality of drift-tubes arranged inside the cylindrical cavity, for generating high-frequency electric field between the drift-tubes, and accelerating the charged particles passing through the drift-tube center, further has a movable fixing member installed between a wall of the through-hole of the cylinder cavity and the stem having a movable structure, and a contactor installed between the fixing member and the stem. Electric connection between the cylindrical cavity and the stem is achieved via the contactor, by making the fixing member movable. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
