PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound-eye imaging apparatus which can be made to advance readily to a narrow space and easily acquire exact three-dimensional shape of a subject, even if it is a subject having even surfaces that are without patterns. SOLUTION: The compound-eye imaging apparatus 1 is equipped with its imaging apparatus body 2, formed sufficiently compact to advance inside human oral cavity, and an image processing device 3 for processing a picked-up image. The imaging apparatus body 2 is equipped with an optical lens array 6, constituted by arranging a plurality of optical lenses L11, L12, ..., L33 on the same plane, a solid-state imaging element 7 picking up single-eye images k11, k12, ..., k33, a diffraction optical element 8 attached to the optical lens array 6, and a laser beam source device 10 emitting a laser beam 9 to the diffraction optical element 8. The diffraction optical element 8 reflects the incident laser beam 9 by minute ruggedness formed on its surface so as to project many bright spots (pattern image) in a grid shape on the surface of the subject. The image processing device 3 calculates the distance between the imaging apparatus body 2 and the bright spot for each imaged bright spot so as to estimate the three-dimensional shape of the subject.
