<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate for a display, which is lightweight and includes high clarity while decreasing environmental burdens. <P>SOLUTION: The glass substrate for a display includes, by mass%, 50-70% of SiO<SB>2</SB>, 5-18% of B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 10-25% of Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0-10% of MgO, 0-20% of CaO, 0-20% of SrO, 0-10% of BaO, 5-20% of RO (in which R is at least one member selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba), and >0.20 to 2.0% of R'<SB>2</SB>O (in which R' is at least one member selected from the group consisting of Li, Na and K), and contains, by mass%, 0.05-1.5% of oxide of metal that changes in valence number in molten glass, and substantially contains none of As<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and PbO. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
