PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition for the thin metal films, which can form coating films excellent in adhesiveness, heat resistance, and water resistance in good productivity, and to provide a bright resin product using the coating composition for the thin metal films. SOLUTION: Provided are the coating composition for the thin metal films, used for coating a discontinuous structure of a thin metal film disposed on the surface of a substrate, characterized by comprising 10 to 95 mass% of a monomer compound comprising a multifunctional monomer or oligomer having at least two (meth)acryloyl groups in one molecule, 4.5 to 29.5 mass% of a chlorinated polyolefin resin or (meth)acryl-modified chlorinated polyolefin resin having a chlorine content of ≤50 mass%, and 0.5 to 15 mass% of a photopolymerization initiator; and the bright resin product 10 characterized by forming a back resin material 14 on a coating film 13 formed by coating the coating composition on a discontinuous structure thin metal film 12 disposed on the surface of the substrate 11.
