摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption concerning a sensing device, a display device, an electronic apparatus, and a sensing method. <P>SOLUTION: On a screen, m&times;n light detecting circuits O1 (optical sensors) are formed corresponding to the intersection of m (an integer being &ge;2) scanning lines with n (an integer being &ge;2) reading lines. A scanning circuit 500 for a sensor to read a light receiving signal from each light detecting circuit O1 and a light receiving signal processing circuit 600 are arranged. When a non-contact state is continuously detected for a prescribed time period concerning a finger or a touch pen on a display screen, the reading mode of the light receiving signal is shifted from a normal reading mode to a partial reading mode, and then, the light receiving signals are read only from the light detecting circuits O1 arranged in an operation button display area C. When the approach of the finger or touch pen to a part close to the display screen (the operation button display area C) is detected, the reading mode of the light receiving signal is shifted from the partial reading mode to the normal reading mode, and then, the light receiving signals are read from the whole light detecting circuits O1 arranged on the screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
