PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush holder which can be used in common irrespective of necessity of an electronic component connected in series to a conducting path of a brush of a DC rotating electrical machine and a DC power supply and can be used without mounting another component especially when the electronic component connected in series is not necessary. SOLUTION: Electrode plates 20a and 20b forming the conducting path connecting the brushes 5a and 5b with the DC power supply are provided with a pair of connecting terminals 22a-23a and 22b-23b arranged by sandwiching cut-off portions 28a and 28b in which the conducting path is cut to enable the electronic component to be mounted along the conducting path in series, and with shorting paths 24a and 24b connecting the vicinity of either of connecting terminal 22a or 22b arranged on a DC power supply-side and the vicinity of the brushe 5a or 5b. A resin holder body holding the electrode plates 20 is provided with openings 12a and 12b from which both faces of the shorting paths 24a and 24b are exposed so that the shorting paths 24a and 24b can be cut after the electrode plates 20a and 20b are held.
