PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for an image display apparatus, which has desired optical filter functions demanded for the image display apparatus, such as near IR absorption and external light reflection prevention, high transparency and electromagnetic wave shielding function, and obtains an image of high contrast by preventing image whitening under an external light incident environment. SOLUTION: The filter 100 for the image display apparatus comprises: a layer configuration constituted by laminating an electromagnetic wave shielding filer 20 having a patterned electromagnetic shielding layer 4 on a rear face side transparent substrate 5; and a surface adjustment filter 10 having a surface side transparent substrate 2 and a surface adjustment layer 1 via a surface side transparent tacky adhesive layer 3 on the electromagnetic shielding layer 4, and laminating a rear face side transparent tacky adhesive 6 on the rear face side transparent substrate 5, wherein, the electromagnetic shielding layer 4 includes a metal fine particle binding body and a nickel columnar integrated crystal layer having a light diffusive irregular surface on the outermost surface covering the surface thereof, and includes an absorbent in either one or two layers of the surface side transparent tacky adhesive layer 3 or rear face side transparent tacky adhesive layer 6.
