PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a highly pure diorganopolysiloxane having both terminals each blocked with a (meth)acryloxypropyl group. SOLUTION: The method for producing a diorganopolysiloxane having both terminals each blocked with a (meth)acryloxypropyl group is based on a hydrosilylation reaction between a diorganopolysiloxane having both terminals each blocked with a diorganohydrogensiloxy group and an allyl (meth)acrylate. In this method, a diorganopolysiloxane as a by-product wherein one terminal is blocked with a (meth)acryloxypropyl group while the other terminal is blocked with a (meth)acryloxy group, and a diorganopolysiloxane as a by-product having both terminals each blocked with a (meth)acryloxy group are hydrolyzed, and formed diorganopolysiloxanes having silanol terminals are condensed mutually.
