PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber connector which is easily assembled and includes optical characteristics similar to those of a normal fiber connector. SOLUTION: The optical fiber connector includes a ferrule 51, a flange 52 for gripping the ferrule 51, an optical fiber holding part 53 connected to the rear end of the flange 52, and an optical fiber 59 cleaved by removing a cover and subjected to taper processing. The flange 52 includes a space 52a where an optical fiber sags. The optical fiber holding part 53 includes a structure for elastically holding a part with cover of the optical fiber 59 by a base 53a and a cap 53b. In the optical fiber 59, the part with cover is elastically held by the optical fiber holding part 53 in a state that its distal end protrudes from the distal end of the ferrule 51 by a predetermined amount.
